The meeting was started with a resonant evening gongyo with all the attendees
led by SGI Vice President Takimoto.
After that, SGI Philippine Vice General Director Roger Cabauatan gave a
short lecture of the Gosho entitled, "On Repaying Debts of Gratitude"
(The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, p. 690)
Following the lecture, a message from President Ikeda was read by Youth
Division Chief, Ronald Hernandez.
President Ikeda emphasized the significance of March 16, saying that it
is the day of carrying on the fighting spirit to achieve Kosen-rufu; they
day of rising up valiantly with the pride of champions of justice; and
the day of setting forth toward total victory in the shared struggle of
mentor and disciple.
Then, a touching life experience was shared by Mrs. Nenita Ong from Binondo
chapter. It was about how she overcame financial difficulties through
the power of faith and practice.
To celebrate the Kosen-rufu day, cultural groups from Youth Division; Youth
Division Dance Group, Young Men's Division Brass Band, Young Women's Division
Chorus with Boys & Girls, Young Men's Division Chorus Group performed
their lively and rhythmical dances and music. And, of-course, it goes without
saying that any performance of SGI Philippines would never be complete
without Women's Division Chorus Group. This time, Women's Division Sampaguita
Chorus has shown their beautiful voices.
Lastly, SGI Vice President Takimoto gave a speech, elaborating the message
given by President Ikeda.
