Cebu Chapter Youth Division
Kick-off Meeting was Held in Samar
(Calbayog City)
On the second leg of our inter-island Cebu Chapter Youth Division Kick-off meeting, the Youth Division members of Cebu Chapter namely Mylene Grace Sia, Angela Monungolh, Claire Dipay, Denise Dipay along with our Headquarters leader Jordan Ong,
a very successful activity was held in Samar (Calbayog City)
last June 7 and 8, 2008. Samar is a province in the Philippines located
in the Eastern Visayas region.
The affair was attended by 43 Calbayog District members and guests with
the magnanimous support by the district men's and women's division members.
Basic Buddhist concepts and leadership guidelines were discussed as part
of our Cebu Youth Division's mission to establish a network of friendship
and to establish the role of the Youth Division members in the locality.
Aside from this, the three eternal guidelines, as bestowed upon SGI Philippines by our beloved mentor, Ikeda-Sensei, was discussed. Namely, they are: (1) SGI Philippines will engage in the shared struggle of mentor & disciple; (2) SGI Philippines will unite in faith with the spirit of many in body, one in mind; and (3) SGI Philippines will win happiness & victory.
The said activity is an opportunity for us, Youth Division members to create
the causes to develop a life of victory and fulfillment.
As leaders, it's our responsibility to practice and care for the members
with flexibility and common sense, and always in the spirit of unity and
respect for all.
