The Gajokai Group held their seminar last August 16 and 17 at the Grand Culture Center in Tagaytay City.
The two-day and one night seminar focused on unity, excellence and learning
more about Sensei Ikeda's life.
Engaging in a Boodle Fight
Their first day was a series of lectures. SGI Philippines HQ Young Men's
Division Chief Harry Cruz, also the Gajokai Group Officer-in-Charge, lectured
on the Gosho entitled Many in Body, One in Mind. Other lectures that followed
were about Serving the Members, Knowing Your SGI Philippines HQ Leaders,
About Sensei Ikeda's Life and the Gajokai Basics were also shared by the
Gajokai In charges.
At night, the Gajokai members proceeded with open forum and sharing of experiences, and If-This-Happens-What-Will-You-Do? Scenarios showing problems and the best possible solution on how to deal with it were also discussed. And to heat up the cold night before sleeping time, the Gajokai members played basketball with the YMD Chief at the GCC gym.
The next day was a Team-Building Activity Day. After taking a heavy breakfast
and morning Gongyo, the In charges launched their Gajokai Amazing Race;
a game that embodies teamwork and responsibility, where every team must
complete their mission by answering questions or performing tasks related
to the Gajokai group that was discussed the previous day. The first team
who completes the mission, wins.
After Closing Ceremony, the Gajokai members engaged in a boodle fight in
which the participants ate their lunch together using banana leaves as
their plate and their hands as spoon. Boodle fight is a method of serving
a meal that helps foster camaraderie among the members taking part.
The Gajokai Group was thankful most especially to the Women's Division
volunteers and to the Manicio couple who helped make the seminar a success.
The group is also planning to conduct the same program of the seminar at
the Philippine Culture Center in Quezon City soon.
