4th YWD Manila-Mindanao Excahnge Meeting
was held in Cagayan de Oro City
Two Hundred Fifty-six (256) vibrant Young Women's Division members of SGI
Philippines from Cebu, Davao and Manila convened in the SGI Community Center
of Cagayan de Oro which the latter hosted in holding the 4th YWD Manila-Mindanao
Exchange Meeting last October 18 to19, 2008.
The two-day activity commenced with a Four (4) Division District Meeting
with the aim of introducing the power of chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo
to others. More than 60 guests attended in over twenty (20) places
in the afternoon of Saturday.
On its second day, the participants were greeted with tri-colored flaglets along the pathway of the center by the local YWD members. To their great surprise, a much warmer and unique welcome awaited them inside with the amazing performance of the YWD Taiko Group (Japanese Drum) together with the Fife and Drum Corps.
The exchange meeting then started with a sonorous morning gongyo. Mindanao YWD General Chapter Chief, Miamor Alindam, conveyed her happiness and heartfelt gratitude to all the delegates for participating in the activity. Four selected delegates related their wonderful benefits in overcoming financial difficulties, human relationships, work, studies and health-related problems through the practice of Nichiren Daishoninfs Buddhism.

Chief reported the Youth Training Course they both attended in Japan last
September 1-7, 2008. Representatives from each key area alternately expressed
their conviction in attaining world peace based on President Ikeda's guidance
and presented souvenir gifts for each other.
Moreover, Hazel Andaya, Headquarters YWD Vice Chief discussed some vital
points on propagation. On the other hand, Mary Grace Jingco, Headquarters
YWD Chief tackled the YWD's Mission for Kosen-rufu and announced the recently
launched Ikeda-Kayo Group (Literally, Flower-Sun Group). She also urged
all Young Women's Division members to become indispensable both within
the Soka Gakkai and in their respective places of work.
Thereafter, the YWD top leaders expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the other 3 divisions (Young Menfs, Womenfs and Menfs Division respectively) for the support they extended which ensured the victory of the YWD annual activity.
