A significant event in the history of SGI Philippines’ Young Women`s Division was held last October 12, 2008 marking the establishment of
“Ikeda Kayo-Kai” (*) of the Second Act of Kosen-rufu.
(*Ikeda Kayo-Kai – Literally, “Ikeda Flower-Sun Group”; is a group of Young
Women’s Division members formed in 1952, which met twice a month to study
politics, economics, philosophy, and the humanities,
on the basis of the literary classics of the East and West.)

The inauguration ceremony begun with a solemn evening gongyo led by HQ
Young Women`s Division Chief,
Mary Grace Jingco followed by a grand and energetic performance of Diamond
Koteki-tai group (Drum and Fife
Group organized by the Young Women’s Division members of SGI Philippines).
The establishment of Ikeda Kayo Kai in the SGI-Philippines aims to develop and foster the Young Women`s
Division in playing significant role in advancing world peace movement
in accordance to the Soka Gakkai ideals.
Attended by more than a hundred members of Young Women`s Division, the newly established group vowed
to uphold the 3 mottoes:
1. To strive together in friendship as sisters in faith and remain true to the path of faith through out our lives
2. To base ourselves on the Gosho and always cherish and protect Soka Gakkai International
3. To forever advance together with SGI President and Mrs. Ikeda.
On the other hand, Young Women`s Division General Chapter leaders expressed
their strong conviction on the
importance of conducting heart to heart dialogue in the spirit of mentor
and disciple and making study as their
foundation that would lead to their deeper understanding on the various
fields of Peace, Culture and Education.
The participants unanimously expressed their unity in realizing the noble purpose of Ikeda Kayo-Kai.
