SGI-Philippines held its HQ Leaders Meeting on December 17, at the SGI Philippines Culture Center in Timog Avenue, Quezon City.
The meeting, which was the last event for the year, served as the kick-off
for all the leaders towards next year's "Year of Advancement and Victory."
SGI President Ikeda's encouraging message was read during the meeting,
expressing his heartfelt congratulations and appreciation to all the leaders.
Awards were given to all districts that achieved their shakubuku target
and likewise, to individuals who greatly contributed in our shakubuku campaign
this year. Newly appointed leaders from the General Chapter down to District
levels were also announced.

The SGI 2007 theme, "Year of Advancement and Victory," and its
active targets were explained by SGI Philippines Vice General Director
and National Secretary Manuel Urrutia.
The active targets are:
(1) Steadily expanding our circle of friendship
(2) Striving to enhance our discussion meetings
(3) Fostering the Youth—the treasures of the SGI—and new members
(4) Improving and making full use of our Publications—the driving force
for Kosen-rufu.
Activity reports and convictions for each division were laid down by its representatives.
First by the YWD Chief Grace Jingco, followed by the YMD Chief Jheremiaz
Zhel Cruz. The third was WD Chief Yoshiko Shibata and last was MD Chief
and Vice General Director Roger Cabauatan.
Each division looked forward to the success of their respective activities
next year.
For the delight of the audience, the performing groups of each division
made a very joyous performance with their songs, music and dance. The performing
groups were: YWD Diamond Kotekitai and Marimba group, YMD Brass Band, Youth
Division Dance group, the WD Sampaguita and Mabuhay Chorus and the MD Chorus.
Each groups gave their heart with their performance to show appreciation to all the members and leaders who fought very hard this year.
SGI Philippines Executive Vice General Director Rizal Shibata gave an encouragement
speech stressing next year's theme and active targets.
While General Director Yasuaki Niitsu thanked all the members and leaders
for their effort this year and to all behind the scene groups who devoted
their precious time and effort to serve our culture centers and all our
members.
He also reported Sensei's 201st academic honors conferred by one of Philippine
schools, the University of Rizal System.
In closing, SGI Vice President Takimoto gave encouraging guidance, thanking
all the members and looking forward to next year's activity.
Although the venue was fully packed with a total of 781 leaders from all over Manila General Chapters, the day was very significant and full of hope as they depart towards a more victorious year 2007.
