3rd week "Shin'ichi, I will build a solid foundation for Kosen-rufu in Japan,
but you will pave the way for Kosen-rufu throughout the world---"
He had felt his mentor’s boundless expectations for him and the magnitude
of his own mission. At dawn the next day, he had come down to the
beach and made a solitary pledge before the sea: "Sensei! I, Shin'ichi,
will definitely accomplish Kosen-rufu of the East. I will definitely build
a golden bridge of Kosen-rufu spanning the world." Never for
a single moment did Shin’ichi forget the words his mentor had spoken on
that day.

4th week For ten years I devoted myself to supporting President Toda. From
him, I learned the spirit, principles and vision of Kosen-rufu, and was
also passed the baton of the mission to realize that dream. As President
Toda’s disciple, I am determined to keep running with that spiritual baton
in hand as long as I have strength and breath left in me – with the sole
wish that humanity may live in peace and happiness. Ultimately, it
will be none other than the members of the youth division to whom I will
pass the baton and say, "I'm counting on you to put the finishing
touches on the Kosen-rufu movement."

September 2010
1st week
I am resolved to strive in the vanguard and pave the way so that all of
you, as runners for Kosen-rufu may sprint out into Asia and into the world.
I hope that you will carry on my will and dedicate your lives to
people’s happiness and to the realization of peace.
(The New Human Revolution - Training 41)
2nd week I hope that you will strive to be youth who, in the sphere of your family,
will cherish your parents; who, in society, will become people of foremost
ability at work; who, in the chapters of our organization, will warmly
embrace our more elderly members; and who will win the trust and confidence
of everyone around you.

3rd week
Giving guidance to individuals or families is an extremely time-consuming,
inconspicuous activity but it serves to nurture the “roots” of people’s
faith. Only when a tree’s roots spread and sink down deep into the ground
can it grow toward the heavens and bring forth green leaves and branches. (The New Human Revolution - Courageous Endeavour 1)
4th week
The source of all development in the realm of Kosen-rufu lies in sharing the sufferings of the members, answering their questions so as to relieve them of any doubts, and making it possible for them to joyously exert themselves in faith filled with confidence and hope. October 2010
1st week
We propagate Buddhism to lead others to happiness, and in this respect,
giving personal guidance in faith to new members is of vital importance.
As leaders, you must constantly ask yourselves: How many people in my district,
group or unit have stood up resolutely in faith and been bathed in the
benefit of the Gohonzon? This is a crucial point to remember.
(The New Human Revolution - Courageous Endeavour 2)
2nd week
The greater the number of people introduced to the Daishonin’s Buddhism
the greater the need to provide them with guidance in faith. The task of
propagation is complete only when new members can proceed in their Buddhist
practice with self-motivated independence and a firm conviction in faith.
(The New Human Revolution - Courageous Endeavour 2)
3rd week They had also just taken the very first step toward world Kosen-rufu, an
action that could yet be likened to setting a tiny flame to an infinitely
vast plain of grass. Whether that flame would spread and grow into a blazing
fire or be extinguished overnight by rain hinged solely on how the organization
developed from this point on.
(The New Human Revolution - Courageous Endeavour 2)
4th week The must pressing task right now, therefore, was to offer guidance in faith to each member and raise that person to become someone genuinely capable of taking responsibility to widely spread the Daishonin’s teachings throughout the world. Introducing new members and fostering capable people are like the two wheels of a bicycle. Only when both are moving in unison can Kosen-rufu develop and grow.

3rd week No matter what the reason, a member who harbours jealousy, grudges or hatred against a fellow member who is wholeheartedly striving to fulfil his or her mission for Kosen-rufu commits an extremely grave offense. Nichiren Daishonin thus warns, “Always remember that believers in the Lotus Sutra should absolutely be the last to abuse each other”(MW-3-208)
(The New Human Revolution - Courageous Endeavour 5)
4th week
There is nothing as changeable as the human heart. It can be moved to goodness
or to evil, engender great creativity or great destruction, or manifest
the qualities of a Buddha or of the Devil of the Sixth Heaven. True Buddhism
– faith in the Daishonin’s teachings – guides people’s hearts in the direction
of good, construction and happiness.

December 2010
1st week
Buddhism begins with the recognition that we ourselves are entities of
Ichinen Sanzen (three thousand realms in a single moment of life), and
that all the causes for our happiness lie within our own lives.
(The New Human Revolution - Courageous Endeavour 6)
2nd week
Those who envy or are jealous of others, however, look for the cause of
their happiness or unhappiness in others, which amounts to seeking the
Law outside themselves. The emotions of these who regard the world in this
way tend to rise or fall with each changing circumstances and, when they
encounter some difficulty or suffering, they take out their bitterness
and resentment on others.
They fail to look at themselves and reflect upon their own behaviour. As
a result, they do not grow or carry out their human revolution and ultimately
they make themselves miserable.
(The New Human Revolution - Courageous Endeavour 6)
4th week Naturally, since the central figures or leaders of an organization are only human, they will have their share of strengths and weakness.
Sometimes their lack of experience will be glaringly apparent. The question
lies in what we do in such a situation - - - whether we simply
criticize such individuals, or help them try to make up for their shortcomings? (The New Human Revolution - Courageous Endeavour 6)
