Happy New Year and congratulations to all of you in welcoming the “Year
of Capable People and Development” filled with hope!
Last year, due to everyone’s power of faith and unity, our SGI Philippines was able to gain great advancement and great victory. For this, allow me to sincerely offer my gratitude, thank you so very much!
Well, as you all know, our SGI theme this year in 2008 is “Year of Capable People and Development”.
Now, the SGI has become a global organization and the world is greatly changing and will continue to do so. Under such conditions, Sensei taught:
“Creating a better age is determined by man. And it is mentor and disciple that create that man.”
Moreover, Sensei also gave the following guidance:
“Those who gather and develop capable people will triumph. With the slogan of becoming the finest in the world, let us all create a history of victory of kosen-rufu cheerfully, bravely, powerfully and with perseverance.”
As members of SGI Philippines, let us achieve great victory in the advancement of kosen-rufu for this year with the spirit of oneness of mentor and disciple starting from one’s self, first and foremost. Besides, aiming towards 2010, let us develop many capable people with the spirit of oneness of mentor and disciple who will strive in doing shakubuku so we can construct a Buddha land that is full of joy and make the Philippines the foremost country in the world that produces capable people.
Furthermore, together with the faith of hon’in-myo or the spirit of always moving forward from this moment on, let us cheerfully and brightly advance kosen-rufu together with our General Director Cabauatan and Women’s Division Chief, Mrs. Shibata. Let us also make this whole year into a year where we are happy and in good health and one in which we can show actual proof of overflowing benefit and great victory that is full of joy.
Thank you very much and Happy New Year again to all of you!
