World Peace Commemorative Gongyo Meeting (June 3, 2007)
Yasunori Takimoto
(SGI Vice President)
Good morning to all of you!
I would like to wholeheartedly thank everyone for attending the June World Peace Gongyo Meeting in spite of having to come very early in the morning and coming from distant places, thank you so much again!
Now, on the Seikyo Shimbun newspaper dated June 1, the following was published for the segment “To My Friends” in which Sensei is appealing to us:
"Supreme happiness is found in the path of mentor and disciple!
Let our lives completely burn in fulfilling our mission!
Today again, let us high-spiritedly apply ourselves to our
endeavor!"
What is happiness? For us, there is no true happiness other than being able to earnestly advance along the path of mentor and disciple together with our great mentor, Ikeda-Sensei and being able to accumulate boundless good fortune day by day in our lives.
Let us all be aware of our noble mission of achieving Philippine kosen-rufu – which is why each of us were born in this world and let us completely burn to our heart’s content in realizing our mission!
To completely burn means to burn 100% without any impurity whatsoever.
In other words, it is to devote ourselves to the Gohonzon and make Sensei's
guidance as the foundation of our Gakkai activities and practice with a
straightforward and strong faith in fulfilling our respective mission.
Let us be convinced that "now" is the very time of opening the
new era of Philippine kosen-rufu and in carrying out our true advent in
this world, in other words, to fulfill our purpose as Bodhisattvas of the
Earth in being born in this world.
As such, let us do our best together under the leadership of our new General Director Cabauatan and Women’s Division Chief Shibata harmoniously, cheerfully and in high spirits for the sake of the happiness of the people; development and peace of the Philippines and the our own supreme happiness, our family’s health, prosperity and happiness as well as for the sake of the advancement of Philippine kosen-rufu.
