Good morning everyone!
I would like to offer my wholehearted gratitude to all of you for participating
in this June World Peace Gongyo Meeting coming very early in the morning
and traveling from faraway places, thank you so much!
Just now together with all of you, I have offered prayers to the Gohonzon.
Aside from that, I have also prayed for everyone's happiness, peace and
further happiness for your family as well as your prosperity and development.
And as was announced earlier, we have also offered our memorial prayers for the deceased in the tragedies in China and Myanmar.
Well, when we talk about June, it is the month of birth of our first president
of Soka Gakkai Tsunesaburo Makiguchi. He was born on June 6, 1871 as the
eldest son to his father, Nagamatsu and mother, Ine in Niigata Prefecture
– where Nichiren Daishonin also faced persecution.
The lifetime of president Makiguchi was truly filled with difficulties
and struggles. And it can even be said that precisely because of president
Makiguchi's struggle, the era of the three successive presidents with second
president Josei Toda and third president Ikeda was opened.
Ikeda-Sensei
gave us his heartfelt encouragement last May 21 at Tokyo Makiguchi Memorial
Hall on the occasion of May
Headquarters Leaders
Meeting. In that occasion he mentioned;
"Firstly,
I would like to extend to you, Philippine representative members my warm
welcome for your special training here.
Thank you very
much for your effort in participating in the Headquarters Leaders Meeting
as well."
Moreover, Sensei
also gave the following guidance:
1. They are our noble comrades who have promoted kosen-rufu while undergoing hardships.
They
must be given importance more than anyone else.
2. In whichever
field, a person of effort is great. A persevering person will win.
3. We, as Bodhisattvas
of the Earth are the most noble of all in having the foremost mission.
Only
by living through this mission can we have supreme youth and supreme kind
of life.
4. Whatever
is said by whomsoever, this Buddhism is the great law that is eternal and
indestructible.
5. Decide in
the outset that, "I will do this". You should also decide that,
"I will absolutely win."
Victory
or defeat is determined whether or not you have so decided – this is the
philosophy of winning.
We, at SGI
Philippines, should also decide.
We should decide
that we will definitely triumph and continuously win and that we will become
happy.
Let us cheerfully and pleasantly become happy in our endeavors together with our General Director Cabauatan
and Women's
Division Chief, Mrs. Ngo Dee!
Thank you very
much for patiently listening today!
