World Peace Commemorative Gongyo Meeting (Septeber 2, 2007)
Yasunori Takimoto
(SGI Vice President)
I would like to express my sincere thanks to all of you for attending in
the September World Peace Gongyo Meeting coming very early in the morning
and traveling from long distances to participate, thank you very much!
Together with all of you, I have prayed to the Gohonzon for world peace as well as your individual health, safety, happiness and further prosperity of your entire family, my precious fellow members.
In a special training this August, Sensei gave an important guidance in which he mentioned the following:
“Second president Toda on one occasion said, ‘If we think why we were born in this troubled times where it is also difficult to make a living and considered it to be our precious fate where, having directly been appointed by the true Buddha, Nichiren Daishonin, we were born in order to achieve kosen-rufu of that country. It is a question of whether or not we realize it or not.’ If we realize it, we will become happy as a result; if not, we will only lead miserable lives.”
We have the most respect-worthy Gohonzon in all of us. And as disciples of Ikeda-Sensei, we were taught with the supreme principles of faith. Whenever needed, we can manifest limitless life-force and boundless wisdom.
Sensei further stated, “A person who works for the sake of the people and for kosen-rufu will triumph. Efforts exerted for the sake of the Mystic Law will be connected with deriving as much benefit. And such action’s benefit will spread from generation to generation. This is the law of causality in Buddhism and it is what is taught by Nichiren Daishonin.”
We have now finally entered the second phase of kosen-rufu. As members
of SGI Philippines, let us strive in our noble SGI activities with the
same mind and together with Ikeda-Sensei.
Taking a fresh first step towards realizing Philippine kosen-rufu, let us burn with great hope today and tomorrow; let us burn with the powerful courage of justice and advance together with General Director Roger Cabauatan and Women’s Division Chief, Mrs. Shibata.
