The World Peace Gongyo Meeting (September 7, 2008)
Yasunori Takimoto
(SGI Vice President)
Good morning everyone!
I would like to offer my heartfelt appreciation and thanks to all of you for participating in the September World Peace Prayer-Gongyo Meeting for coming very early in the morning and traveling from far distant places, thank you very much!
Together with all of you, I have offered prayers to the Gohonzon for world peace. Aside from this, I have also prayed for all your happiness, more prosperity and development of your respective families as well as your good fortune.
Well, in this month's September issue of SGI Graph magazine, there is a
special feature entitled, "Soul of the Earth – Russia and SGI President
Ikeda."
I would like to introduce to you a particularly touching article about
our SGI Philippines that was also published on that same issue.
It was about
the article on the bestowal of an honorary degree on humanities upon Ikeda-Sensei
from Benguet
State University
from the Philippines on July 10.
Nothing is
more honorable than this for us. Therefore, I would like to extend to you
my congratulations once again, congratulations!
I’m sure that our former General Director, Mr. Niitsu is very pleased with
this development as well.
This honorary
degree brings the total academic honors bestowed upon Ikeda-Sensei to 240.
On the day of conferment,
(Benguet State University)
President Rogelio Colting who went to Japan mentioned: "I praise the
noble action of the SGI
President who
is leading humanity towards peace."
On that same conferment ceremony held at Soka University in Hachi-oji, Vice General Director Manuel Urrutia and Vice
Chapter Chief
Eduardo Tan was also present. Congratulations once again to all of you!
In one of the
guidance of Ikeda-Sensei, he mentioned:
(To My Friends)
May everyone
be a winner.
There is no
one without a mission.
Everyone should
be a great and marvelous leader of kosen-rufu.
Be the very
best at something and shine.
And in every
field of your mission,
Achieve an
all-out victory.
Now, as members of SGI Philippines, let us give our utmost effort in our endeavor for shakubuku cheerfully and
harmoniously
together with our General Director Cabauatan and Women's Division Chief
Ngo Dee!
Thank you very
much again for patiently listening to me today!
