The World Peace Gongyo Meeting ( November 5, 2006)
Yasunori Takimoto
(SGI Vice President)
Good morning everyone!
I would like to heartily thank all of you for participating in today's
World Peace Gongyo Meeting coming in very early in the morning and traveling
from far-away places to attend, thank you so much again!
Together with all of you, I have prayed for world peace and the greater health and happiness of everyone as well as the prosperity of your entire family.
I would like to share to you some good news: Rizal University System will
be bestowing an honorary doctorate in Humanities to Ikeda-Sensei this coming
November 22 in Tokyo. This will be Sensei's 201st honorary doctorate. In
connection with this, Sensei was very happy and honored about this for
the fact that Rizal's name is included in the name of the university bestowing
the honor and mentioned that this should serve as our new departure in
our endeavors.
Now, as all of you know, the SGI Theme for 2007 has already been set by
Sensei and next year will be the "Year of Advancement and Victory".
Consequently, what should we do in order to be victorious? What is the secret in order for us to win and be victorious?
Sensei has taught 9 Items for Victory concerning this in an easy to understand
manner.
They are:
1) A person who wakes up early is a winner; one's life force in the morning
is vital.
Because similar to the rising sun, it will illuminate
total darkness.
I have never seen anyone who wakes up late and
has become great.
2) A person who does gongyo and chant daimoku is a winner.
3) A person who stays healthy and who actively does his work is a winner;
a person who
devices ways to become very strong and tries to
accomplish everything is a winner.
4) A person who can do teamwork by harmonizing with other people
? be it in the realm of work or in Gakkai activities
? is a winner.
5) A person who cherishes his/her juniors is a winner.
6) A person who shouts at and pushes around his/her juniors and women doesn't
qualify
to become a leader; a person who understands, tolerates and encourages them
is a winner.
7) A person who cherishes people of wisdom, ability and effort is a winner.
8) Become experts in diplomacy (association with other people)! Any
company or group
(organization) is a winner if they have such a person in their
midst.
9) Taking an ambiguous attitude spells defeat. A person who can recognize
good people as
good and evil people as evil is a winner. We must
keep a close eye on shrewd and mean
people.
As long as we apply, learn and check these 9 items for victory against ourselves, we will definitely be able to win in all our endeavors without being deceived by evil people and we will be able to advance along the correct path of life.
Let us advance and win by always bearing these 9 points in our minds as
we cheerfully and boldly advance amicably together with General Director
Niitsu and Women's Division Chief, Mrs. Shibata.
