The Headquarters Leaders Meeting (December 21, 2008)
Yasunori Takimoto
(SGI Vice President)
Good afternoon everyone!
I would like to extend my sincere thanks to everyone for attending the Headquarters Leaders Meeting amidst your very hectic year-end schedules.
Moreover, I would also like to extend my appreciation to every one of you
who was able to adorn your lives with great victory in this year’s theme
of “The Year of Capable People and Development”, thank you very much!
Well, Ikeda-Sensei
has once discussed about the ancient city of Rome. Referring to an old
saying, Sensei said:
"'Rome
wasn't built in a day.' It had taken centuries for the tiny city-state
to develop into the vast Roman Empire."
Kosen-rufu
was a grand undertaking to actualize world peace by building a 'golden
palace' of life, an 'eternal city'
of the spirit,
in the hearts of all human beings.
It, too, could
never be accomplished in a day.
It might take
a hundred, two hundred, three hundred years or more.
But no matter
how long it took, it was the Soka Gakkai's mission to accomplish that goal
without fail.
It was essential
that they successfully meet every challenge along the way.
All future
triumphs depended on victory in the present." (The
New Human Revolution - Joy 45)
Now, as members
of SGI Philippines aiming towards next year's theme of "Year of Youth
and Victory" for 2009,
let us win
in all battles cheerfully and pleasantly together with our General Director
Cabauatan!
